Statement of Faith and Beliefs

1. We believe that the Bible is God’s infallible written Word, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and was written without error in its original autograph. It is our sole basis and final authority in matters of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16)
2. We believe that there is one true God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality, distinguishable but indivisible (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
3. We believe that Jesus Christ is God, the Living Word who became flesh, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, true God and true man. (John 1:1, 14; Luke 1:26-35; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6)
4. We believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and voluntarily atoned for the sins of men by dying on the cross as their substitute. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 4:25)
5. We believe in the bodily ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ to heaven and that He will come again personally, visibly and bodily, to consummate history and the eternal plan of God. (John 14:2-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
6. We believe in the creation, test and fall of man as recorded in the book of Genesis, his total spiritual depravity and total inability to attain to divine righteousness. Every man therefore is in need of spiritual regeneration by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 5:12, 18; John 3:3-8)
7. We believe that salvation of man is only by God’s grace through faith, and is not the work, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12, 22; Romans 5:11)
8. We believe that the Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to men. He convicts and draws sinners to Christ, imparts new life to them, continually indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth and seals them until the day of redemption. (John 16:5-15; Ephesians 1:13-14)
9. We believe that there is one true universal church manifested through various local churches for which the head of the Church is Jesus Christ. (Acts 15:22; Matthew 16:18; 18:15-20)
10. God admonishes His people to assemble together regularly for worship, for participation in ordinances, for edification through the Scriptures and for mutual encouragement. (Hebrews 10:34)
11. At physical death the believer enters immediately into eternal, conscious fellowship with the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting glory and blessing. (2 Corinthians 5:5-8)
12. We believe in water baptism by immersion in the name of the eternal Godhead. We also believe in the Lord’s Table, commonly known as communion. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:34-36; 19:1-6; 1 Corinthians 11:28-32; Matthew 26:26-28)
13. We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as manifested in the early Church (1 Corinthians 12 – 14)
14. The Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to disciple men of every nation. (Matthew 28:19-20)
15. We believe that all government is ordained of God and that to resist its power and ordinances is to resist the commands of God (Romans 13).
